Please Help us Restore the Domes of the Russian Orthodox Church in Ottawa
Last fall the Russian Orthodox Parish of the Protection of the Virgin Mary in Ottawa began a fundraising campaign with the goal of collecting $ 100,000 to restore the main dome of the parish church.
Generous contributions have allowed the parish to raise 58% of the needed funds. We humbly call upon your kind help to collect the remaining 42%
Built in 1988, our white brick church with a blue roof and golden domes has become a landmark in Ottawa, Canada’s capital city. The church is located just west of downtown. It is visible from the scenic Ottawa River Parkway, from the main transit line, and from many downtown buildings including the Peace Tower on Parliament Hill. Due to this prime location, the church has become not only a prominent architectural landmark but is also a visible symbol of the Orthodox Christian faith, in a modern and increasingly secularized world, to thousands of commuters, tourists and passersby.

Осенью прошлого года русский православный приход Покрова Пресвятой Богородицы в Оттаве начал сбор средств для восстановления главного купола приходского храма с целью собрать 100 000 долларов.
Благодаря щедрым взносам, приход собрал 58% необходимых средств, но нам все еще нужна помощь, чтобы собрать оставшиеся 42%
Построен в 1988 г., наш белокаменный храм с голубой крышей и позолоченными куполами стал достопримечательностью города Оттавы, столицы Канады. Храм расположен к западу от центра города; виден с живописной набережной реки Оттавы, с главной транзитной линии, и из многих зданий города, включая с Башни Мира на Парламентском Холме. Благодаря этому центральному расположению, церковь стала не только выдающимся памятником зодчества и достопримечательностью, но и видимым символом нашей православной христианской веры в современном и все более секуляризированном мире, для тысяч жителей и туристов, ежедневно проходящих или проезжающих мимо храма.

Nous faisons appel à votre aide pour restaurer les dômes de l'église russe orthodoxe d'Ottawa
L'automne dernier les paroissiens de l'église russe orthodoxe de la Protection de la Sainte Vierge ont entrepris une levée de fonds pour la restauration des dômes. Le but est d'atteindre une somme de 100 000 dollars.
Moyennant généreuses contributions nous avons collecté les premiers 58% du total. Toutefois votre assistance financière nous serait indispensable pour obtenir les 42% restants.
Construite en 1988, l'église avec ses briques blanches, son toit bleu et ses dômes dorés est un site architectural bien en évidence à Ottawa, ville capitale du Canada et se trouve directement à l'ouest du centre-ville. On peut l'apercevoir à partir du pittoresque Parkway qui longe la rivière des Outaouais, du haut des nombreux immeubles du centre-ville ainsi que de la Tour de la Paix sur la Colline du Parlement. Grâce à cet emplacement de premier ordre, l'église est non seulement un monument unique au centre de la capitale du Canada, mais également un symbole visible du patrimoine religieux du christianisme orthodoxe dans un monde moderne et de plus en plus sécularisé.
