Red Barn Farm of Northfield needs help! A tornado flattened the beautiful Red Barn Farm of Northfield last night. My family was under the barn when it was destroyed and I am so thankful everyone is physically okay. The amount of damage to the property and the emotional damage to my family is however catastrophic. This beautiful barn was my family’s only source of income, their entire livelihood and future. Other outbuildings were also destroyed. They have spent the last number of years putting everything they have into this place and turning their 100 year old rustic barn into a nationally known wedding venue hot spot and family gathering place all over their beloved brick oven pizza. This has earned them countless awards and features in numerous magazines. Their wedding venues were booked nearly 2 years in advance.  Anyone who has ever been out to this unique destination can easily see that it was the pride and joy of the Winter family. This family is so selfless and frequently goes out of their way to help anyone in need in any way they can. Now it is our turn to help them out. The Northfield community loved the Red Barn Farm but I know that love spread much much farther. Please let’s support these wonderful people during this heartbreaking time! ❤️

Hello from the Winter family at Red Barn Farm! We have finalized a building plan for the new barn. We thought you'd like to see the new look. We are very excited and so appreciative of your generous donations to make this a possibility. We are looking forward to a early January build that will enable us to be open for the start of our 2019 season.

Hello, this is Tammy & Pat Winter, owners of the Red Barn Farm of Northfield, LLC. We want to thank our niece, Sarah Slinger, for starting this fundraising idea after she saw the devastation. We would have been reluctant to do so as many are suffering from the tornados and storm that passed through our area.
We want to address comments regarding our operations and give forth truthful information.
Our operation (both pizza nights and the venue) were both started as an LLC in 2012. All state and local authorities and structural engineers were involved and all inspections passed for us to get our license to operate both sides of the business. All safety and fire code regulations were followed, as well as occupancy ratings for the barn.
We have never before been involved in a GoFundMe page, as indicated in a comment. At the time of becoming a business, we were involved in a Kickstarter champaign, to purchase a new brick oven that would meet the Department of Health regulations.
As with any business, we were not allowed to open for business until we received the go ahead from the Department of Health, along with the many other regulatory agencies. Our commercial kitchen, as well as the barn were both inspected and passed prior to us opening our business.
We do have commercial business insurance, which covers a portion of the barn and commercial kitchen. The Barn is gone as well as our Bridal Cottage, while the commercial kitchen has roof damage. What insurance doesn’t cover are the countless projects that made our 10 acres an appealing place that drove many people to want to come and share it with us, which was our vision and passion when we started this business.
Again, we want to thank Sarah for this campaign, she has a big, giving heart. With all that is going on in our lives right now, and although it has had a very powerful, positive impact on our healing, the few untrue/negative comments have led us to decide to end the campaign.
Thank you for your prayers, thoughts and generosity. We will update our progress and hope to share our farm with you again soon.
Love, The Winter Fam

I just want to post an update and thank all those who have so graciously donated or simply left a heartwarming comment during this hard time. Just to settle all the concerns, the insurance will only cover a portion of the costs to rebuild what the Red Barn Farm had and doesn’t cover many other things. The money raised IS going towards rebuilding the barn. This go fund me was created as a way for those who so choose, to be able to support the rebuilding process.
