Help Rebuild Lotus Creek

Donation protected
My name is Lysandra Petrie. On the 29th March 2017, following the aftermath of Cyclone Debbie, my father lost everything when water broke the banks of Lotus Creek next to his Service Station. 8ft of water went through the shop. He lost his car, his animals, his clothes, wallet, you name it, he lost everything. All he has left, are the clothes on his back.

We hadn't heard from him when phone service and electricity was cut off. Some friends managed to fly a helicopter to find him the following morning. Fortunately, he was found safe and sound but has nothing left.

Dad, or Sandy, as many people know him is one of the most hardworking people I have ever met. He has worked tirelessly for the past 30 years to build Lotus Creek Service Station up. Lotus Creek Service Station was the only remaining rest stop along the Marlborough-Sarina Road, and now it is gone. The loss of the Lotus Creek Service Station is absolutely devastating, not only for the local community but also for anyone who uses this road.

Sandy has always tried to support the local Clarke Creek community where he can. In times of need he is always the first person to give people a hand. He is the sort of man who would help anyone out of a situation but wouldn’t expect anything in return. This time it’s Sandy who needs help.

Any donation, no matter how big or small, will be greatly appreciated to help get Dad back up on his feet.

Thanking you from the bottom of our hearts, Lysandra & Vanessa Petrie
