Help Nunavut Gymnasts Get to Vegas

Aqsarniit Ujauttaq (Northern Lights Gymnastics) is a gymnastics club in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. It is run completely by volunteers where the equipment is set-up and torn down for every practice. Although the competitive gymnasts are not high level, we believe in teaching them to dream big and if they work hard, anything is possible. As such, we are working to raise money to take 22 girls to a huge competition in Las Vegas from March 2 to 4th, 2018. This competition will host over 80 clubs from across Canada and the US, with the girls from Rankin competing twice and also performing their group routine.
To attend this competition, the costs are high. Just to travel from Rankin to Winnipeg, it is $1430 per person. Then there is the flight from Winnipeg to Vegas, hotel fees, competition entry fees, activity fees, and more. The total cost of this trip will be approximately $70,000.
For almost half of the group this will be their first competition. It will be an opportunity to showcase all the skills they have been working on hard to learn. Nevertheless, this trip will be so much more than just a gymnastics competition. It will teach the kids about self-confidence, independence, and creating and achieving goals. We also want to make it an educational experience by going to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam.
