On Saturday, January 12th 2019, Pico Youth & Family Center (PYFC) suffered extensive damage after a speeding SUV crashed into its facilities. Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt, but the accident has caused operations to temporarily shut down.
The crash destroyed the front office windows, several office computers, office equipment and furniture. Total damages are estimated at $20,000-$30,000.
Although we are working with our insurance company to address the structural damage to the building, we are left with having to replace the equipment and furniture that was destroyed due to the crash.

Pico Youth & Family Center (PYFC) is a community-based nonprofit organization founded in 2002. PYFC provides an array of evidence-based educational services to empower underserved youth from Santa Monica's Pico Neighborhood and the Greater Los Angeles Area. With the help of highly-committed and caring staff, PYFC serves hundreds of youth and young adults ages 14 to 24 at its Youth Center (across from Santa Monica High School) and through community-based programs on a year-round basis. The services and resources provided by PYFC include counseling, tutoring, college counseling, music production studio, film and visual media studio, yoga, performing arts productions, and computer training.
