Update 9/14/18:

Thank you to all who supported me to reach the original goal of this project. My expenses to present at the Midwest Psychedelic Therapy Symposium were completely covered, thanks to the generosity of many community members. The Symposium was a beautiful experience and my presentation meant that many more people were able to learn about the basics of Community-Led Peer-Integration.

I am now in need of more help to support Integration Circles and offerings in Sonoma County. Our community is growing, and more time and resources are needed in order to facilitate this growth.

I have always been committed to making integration resources accessible to everyone regardless of income.  Additionally, the autonomy of community-organized peer-integration groups are essential to maintain. It is my intention that while I continue to offer my support to this community, there will be no commercialization of the services we are providing to each other.

That said, I do need help. In July, Women's Integration Circles were added to our Sonoma County offerings. There is a great need for this. People are traveling from far away to attend. The circles are small, meaning that in order to sustain them I need assistance beyond what a few attendees are able to provide.

There are also a few offerings that have been requested by the community that I would be happy to put energy into given that I could find support for my time, which I usually need to use to source other income-earning opportunities to sustain myself.

The projects we would like to see happen:

-an outdoor integration offering

-a day-long community gathering

-a discussion series with focused topics

Additionally, I am excited to further develop an online resource and information hub to support a more holistic view of integration. I have begun this effort on Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/understory and will hopefully continue to receive funding towards creation of a website. I am looking forward to more people having access to quality information online, as well as to a community to be in dialogue with around topics related to integration.

In the spirit of gifting, please consider making a donation to support sustainable growth for building resources and community around integration, in Sonoma County and beyond.

Thank you for all your help. I am very grateful to be a witness and support for the wonderful things happening in our hearts and communities and rippling ever outward.

In Gratitude and Service,

Niki

From March 2018:

I am excited to announce that I have been invited to speak at the Omterra conference (April 27-29), in my home state of Wisconsin, on the topic of Community-Led Peer-Integration Circles. Expenses associated with getting to and being at the conference are not paid, so I am humbly asking for the support of my community to help me bring this important information to a place and people that are dear to my heart.

Sharing Integration: Peer Integration Circles are an empowering and accessible resource around which to build community. This model has been available for some time in the Bay Area but has not yet been shared across the country.

There is a burgeoning community of people in the Midwest who are connecting to transformative experiences for healing and personal exploration and who need access to the benefits that Integration Circles can provide. In presenting this model at the conference, it is my hope that it will be easy for people to replicate and share where it is most needed.

The resource I have created in the form of this presentation will also be shared in the Bay Area in the hopes that more people will gather together to learn about how integration can help individuals and communities.

How I got here: I have lived in Sonoma County for three years and brought the peer integration model there after seeing a great need for it in myself and with my peers, and in talking with people who come to visit Botanical Dimensions Ethnobotany Library where I work. I have dedicated myself to the mission of this great non-profit as its Program Assistant, as well as volunteering for the non-profit that developed the model, ERIE: Entheogenic Research Integration & Education.

I was born in Illinois and grew up there and in Wisconsin. I attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where I got my Bachelors in Social Work and Latin American Studies. I was actively involved in the local community, volunteering and working for social change, before spending the following six years after graduation working in various countries and learning from a wide variety of people and experiences.

My move back to the States landed me in California, and I am happy to call this beautiful place home! I still maintain close ties to Wisconsin through my family and friends. Therefore I am incredibly moved to have been invited to return in order to share these important Californian cultural learnings with those in my home region who find themselves seeking similar self-growth.

Why I'm doing this: I care deeply about supporting people who are daring to dive into unknown interior landscapes and to bring back knowledge and experiences that might be shared for the benefit of the greater good.

I am passionate about how non-institutionalized community-based models can make a difference for individuals and the world around them, lifting up all of us. Peer-Integration empowers people to not have to rely solely on professional or spiritual intermediaries and instead connects them to others in the community for support, learning and growth.

We all have strength and wisdom to offer ourselves and each other, and I want to shine a light on these values.

What I need: I am asking for help with the travel expenses associated with the conference, as well as the cost to me to take time away from work (I work two jobs and do not receive paid time-off at either).

Conference expenses:
Plane tickets: $350
Other transportation: $200
Food and other incidentals: $150
Accommodation: FREE (staying with friends)
Missing work: $300 (this is a minimum estimate)

Any funds raised above the goal will go towards:
Development of further integration offerings in the North Bay (goal= $1500)
Non-specified personal and project development (ask me about my long-term plans to serve the community!)

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for however you can contribute. I am grateful for the support of my friends and community, and I look forward to journeying onwards with you all.

In Gratitude and Service,

Niki
