Help Nick Finish College!

My name is Nicholas Wolf. I'm 12 credits away from graduating college, and I might not make it.

Why? I'm out of money for college. Federal loans and grants have been exhausted, my credit is too poor for private student loans, and it's a similar situation for anybody I know that would be willing to co-sign one.

The reason that I can't just put college on indefinite hold is that the college I attend stopped offering the degree program I'm after while I was in the middle of it. I can still get this degree, but there are two catches.

1) I have to find a way to pay for it.
2) I can't take any time off of school.

I want my preferred degree title of Bachelors of Fine Arts in Comics and Sequential Art. If I can't do these two things, I will have to switch my program and instead get the Bachelors of Fine Arts in Visual Arts. You might think this a small change in wording, but the degree's uniqueness was a big factor in my decision to enroll in the first place. I believe that same uniqueness could be a similar factor in an employer's decision to hire me.

Likewise, it would delay me from graduating in September 2017 to December 2017, or even possibly March 2018. I enrolled in October of 2012, so this would mean spending a year and a half longer at school than I initially intended.

I won't claim that running out of funding caught me by total surprise. But I'm a genuinely busy person. I have a family to take care of, a fiancée and soon-to-be stepdaughter to care for. I've been driving them, and other members of my family, around to work and school. We have our corner of my parents' house to clean and maintain. My fiancée is currently unemployed and depressed. Our family survives mainly off of frozen meals bought with food stamps. Challenging schoolwork is on top of all this, and my personal efforts at obtaining other employment and even freelance commission work haven't been as fruitful yet.

This is why I'm turning to gofundme, to tell people my story and hope for help from anyone who hears.

All this stress piles up and makes me want to shut down. But I resist and do my best to carry on anyway. I try to be positive and resilient, but it's hard.
