Help my Handsome Cat Mac get the Surgery he Needs

Donation protected
I adopted Mac in April 2018. The first time I looked at him I knew he was my cat. He was handsome in a way only a mum could love, A wonky eye, his tongue always stuck out and at the time was an absolute tank of a cat. Mac has come from a very rough life and would have every reason to hate all people but he chooses not to. In his early "pre-adoption/pre-shelter" days Mac had seen a lot of very unkind people. What I'm only guessing was the worst day of his life was the day someone decided to shoot him with BB gun pellets. 19 to be exact. 14 in his left shoulder area and front leg, one in his right shoulder and four on the left side of his face. I'm positive more traumatic events happened to him before being rescued into a shelter as he had mites, upper respiratory issues and tested FIV+ by the time he saw a vet.

This all leads to where we are at today. Today (1/7/19) I took Mac to the vet for a slight spasm he had developed over a few days to try and hopefully find the cause of the problem to fix it. Once we got in and had him looked over other problems started to arise. The Dr. checked his gums to discover they were inflamed. He also had been itchy which had left him with a couple small scabs from over scratching which the Dr. was concerned about. On top of those two budding issues was the spasms. The Dr believes it is either a seizure issue or feline Hyperesthesia, both treated by a long term medication plan. The only way to solve his gum pain is to do surgery. They would have to remove most of his teeth (if not all) to prevent further inflammation and unnecessary pain. The Dr. also wants to do a skin biopsy on him to figure out the root of his irritation. In the mean time he will be on light pain medication and a shot of antibiotics.

Mac, through all of these issues, through all of the mistreatment, has been an angel. Through everything he has shown nothing but love since I adopted him. He does not have an angry bone in his body. Whenever I look at him all I see is love and gratefulness. So, this is where I am asking for help.

In the past half a year we have been a single income family. Me, my Partner and Mac. I try to make ends meet in the mean time until our current circumstances are resolved but it does leave us tighter than normal as a family. With these new medical bills coming up I unfortunately don't know how it would be possible to take them on on my own on top of all the other financial responsibilities I currently pay. All together the bills could range from 1,200$ to 1,800$. I need to come up with this money within the month so Mac can have his surgery as soon as possible.

Any donation that is made would go towards helping my special little boy feel comfortable and not have to deal with anymore pain than he has had to deal with in his so far, short life. I am asking for help to possibly reach 1000$ to help with the bills. I know there will be more bills to come but as of right now any donation is one step closer to having a healthy and happy Mac again.

Thank you to everyone who donated or just shared our story. I appreciate all of you and your help.

If you would like to follow Mac's Instagram (@mrmackers) we will be posting updates there as to how he is feeling and any other medical news that comes up.
