My name is Daniel. I’m a 38yo husband & dad, an innovator, hiking enthusiast, and a lifelong high achiever. I started my first business at 14 & earned my pilot’s license at 18. As a serial entrepreneur, I know the importance of hard work and the value of building a great team. I am facing the greatest challenge of my life and I am asking you to join my team!
I have suffered with severe headaches and neck pain for the past eight years. Nine months ago my pain levels began climbing out of control. Six months ago, this became unbearable and I also began experiencing a constellation of other symptoms:
Weakness/pain in arms/legs
Balance problems/dizziness
Extreme fatigue
Numbness/tingling in hands/feet
Difficulty concentrating
Blurred vision
Choking on liquids
In recent weeks, my balance problems have forced me to use a cane. This has been a humbling experience for a guy that went on an 18-mile backpacking trip a year ago.
After consulting with a number of different doctors, I was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation.
Chiari Malformation is a serious neurological disorder where the bottom part of the brain, the cerebellum, descends out of the skull and crowds the spinal cord, putting pressure on both the brain and spine, and disrupting the normal flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Thankfully, my case has been accepted by one of the top Chiari neurosurgeons in the world. I will be having surgery within the next 4-5 weeks to halt the progression of spinal cord damage and reduce my pain.

Why I asked people to join my team:
My upcoming surgery will be 800 miles from home and we will need to be there for about 10 days. My wife has already been carrying a much heavier burden in recent months. She’s a great wife and an excellent mom & teacher. She’s about to be my caretaker and I owed it to her to do all I could to reduce her burden. When she started talking about taking a weekend job, I knew I had to swallow my pride and ask for help. UPDATE: Thanks to all who joined my team, she does not have to worry about the upcoming medical and travel expenses.
