Help my Cocoa

UPDATE:
Here's an update on little Cocoa:
The vet and I are in agreement that Cocoa is really too old to be going through the kind of surgery that would be required to remove the teeth that are bothering her. The antibiotic that I've given her has helped her a lot. She is able to eat better and her stomach doesn't bother her quite as much.
Our ongoing treatment will be to bring her in about twice a month for a shot of antibiotics that will last until the next time I take her in. That way, we are hoping we can keep the infection down to give her the relief she needs to be comfortable and to be able to eat.
I am thankful that she is not going to have the surgery. That scared me to even think about it. Cocoa is more herself now. She feels better and she is eating better.
I'm sure the ongoing treatments will be much less than originally thought to be. But I will still need some help. Anything you can give would be appreciated. I am loving that my little Cocoa is feeling better and is more like herself again. It was sad to see her so sick.
Thank you for your concern. Please consider donating even $5 will help with this. I know how important our fur babies are to us. Cocoa has been my companion for a LONG time now. I know she will not be around forever, but while she is here, I pray she will be comfortable and happy.
Thank you again.

ORIGINAL STORY:
Fifteen years ago, my teenage daughter (at the time) brought home a couple of puppies whose mother had been run over and killed. These puppies were not weined and needed to be bottle fed, so they were finding anyone who could help keep these puppies alive until they could eat food. After that, we were to find homes for them. Well, I guess you know, out of the four puppies, we took two of them to wein and I kept one and my brother took the other. We named her Cocoa and she belonged to my daughter who was 16 years old at the time.

After my daughter graduated high school, her life got busy and I became the new owner of Cocoa. She was really little and almost hairless. Her first "sweater"was the top part of a tube sock..yeah, THAT little. I started taking her to get her shots and spayed and all the things you're supposed to do to take care of your animal. We determined that she is part chihuahua and part rat terrier, which meant she'd be a little dog. GOOD. But found that she had a form of red mange. To combat and cure this, I had to take her once a week to be dipped in a solution for about 8 weeks. At $30 a week, I was glad when this was cured.

She's been a fun pet...playful, intertaining, bossy, and funny. We all love her. About a year ago, she got sick and I took her to the vet's and he determined that she had two teeth that needed to be pulled. They were abcessed, so she was given a round of antibiotics and it seemed to take care of the problem.

Recently she has been getting sick once a week, not eating, diarrhea, vomiting...really sick. And for a little dog that only weighs seven pounds, this can turn into something really bad pretty quick.
Again, those teeth seem to be the culprit. The problem is that each one of these teeth have three roots. They have to be broken and pulled out in pieces. And of course the dog would be sedated through this proceedure. This is surgery. Each tooth costs $250-$300 to pull, depending on whether they run into any other problems.

We have little Cocoa on antibiotics right now and that may help her feel better, but it will only be temporary and this will come back again. If you've ever had an abcessed tooth, you know how horrible it feels and how it makes you feel. She has two teeth, one on each side that is the problem for her. It's hard for her to eat and it makes her nauseated.

Please help Cocoa so we can get those bad teeth pulled and she can have a lot better life and feel better. She will need the surgery for the teeth extraction, plus surgery and anesthesia costs, special medication for a while and several check ups after, and also will need a prescription special food as well. It may not sound like much to some people, but it sounds like a million bucks to me.
We are estimating that this will cost between $2,000 and $2,500 for everything. Thank you so much for contributing to help Cocoa feel much better.
