Help Muki Get Back On His Feet

Donation protected

Muharem Vuciterna, known to all his friends as Muki, is a young man fighting for his life after falling victim to a senseless accident.

On July 12, just two days before his 27th birthday, Muki stood at the trunk of his parked car retrieving some items when a reckless driver reversed down a one-way street and slammed into the front of his car. Muki got pinned between his car and the car behind him. His right leg was crushed. In an instant, his life was CHANGED forever.

Muki was rushed to Jacobi Hospital where he underwent numerous 10 hour surgeries to not only reconstruct his leg, but to save his life after losing 4 liters of blood throughout the ordeal. Although hopeful, he is still in an induced coma and his surgeons fear that if Muki’s leg has poor functionality, it will need to be amputated.

At the age of 21, alone and with little money, Muki left Kosovo with the hope of pursuing the American Dream; that through hard work he was capable to create a better life for himself and for his family back home. Muki worked multiple jobs. On his days off he would hang out at Conti’s Pastry Shoppe where over cups of coffee he created a network of friends that would become his American Family. At Conti’s patrons and staff fell in love with his infectious smile and warm heart.

Muki realized that a true passion of his is making people feel good about themselves, so he settled becoming a barber and stylist. He married a girl from back home, Elmedina, whom he would visit twice a year as he saved to bring her over to the States. With a new car he’d bought, he’d drive for Uber on his days off.

Muki is a genuine soul, one of the good guys who brightens up the room with his presence. Once an active young man, Muki now faces life changing challenges WITHOUT the help of his family.

His current status is tenuous and the road to recuperation and rehabilitation will be long and VERY DIFFICULT. In this time, Muki will be UNABLE To WORK and will have NO avenue of income to pay for his expenses. We not only ask for your prayers, but also any donation to help Muki cover these expenses so this his only concern will be to get better and return to some semblance of normalcy during and after this difficult time.
