Help Michael with his medical and life expenses

My brother Michael Spinella suffered a near-death cardiac event this past September and again in December, has been diagnosed with heart failure and has had a defibrillating pacemaker installed. These recent heart-related issues compound his Leukemia (cancer of the blood) condition.
Michael needs financial help! I have established this GoFundMe medical fundraiser to ask all of you to help my brother who has done so much for others his entire life. Michael is a kind, spiritual and giving man. Now is the time for all of us to do what we can to help Michael and his family get through this rough time.
Michael's challenges:
· Michael worked as a full-time entertainer with a school safety program and “moonlighted” as a magician. Both jobs require travel- as much as 1000 miles a week by car. Delaware law prohibits Michael from driving for at least the next 12 months due to the high risk of his passing out while driving.
· Due to his conditions Michael has significant physical limitations.
· Between the driving restriction and his physical limitations working any kind of job is nearly impossible.
· Michael's employer terminated him, with no severance or benefits. Michael can purchase basic medical insurance through COBRA, at a current cost of $ 693.00 per month.
· Of course, having insurance is not enough! As we all know, patient co-payments, deductibles and costs for drugs and treatments not covered can add up to thousands of dollars for a patient like Michael.
· Michael has begun the process of applying for disability, which would help with some of his medical and regular life expenses. The process of obtaining disability is much longer than you might expect. Additionally, as you can imagine, disability benefits will only provide partial relief.
Michael’s strengths to his family, friends and community::
· Before becoming a full-time entertainer, Michael was a school teacher, fully devoted to the small Catholic school and its’ students.
· Michael is disciplined, talented, reliable and funny!
· Michael and his wife Leslie are proud parents and grandparents and have always opened their home, and their hearts to family and friends in need. Michael's faith drives his humanity!
· Anytime his (very) extended family, friend or member of the community has been in a moment of need, Michael has done everything in his power to help them- in any way he can.
It is our turn now to be caring and generous! Please donate whatever you can to this medical fundraiser. Help us by sharing Michael’s story with your circle of friends and family.
