$17,113 of $100,000 goal

We see these stories on the news everyday and pray everyone is okay. You hope this never happens to you or someone you love. Then one evening the phone rings and it’s that call.

On Friday September 7th, 2018 my beautiful daughter Megan was involved in a horrific car accident. She was headed home from work heading west; when out of nowhere a young man traveling at an excessive rate of speed heading east lost control of his car. He slid off the road, crossed the divided highway and hit Megan head on. With no time to react her car was decimated. Changing her life and ours forever.

Megan is a wonderful Daughter and such a devoted Mother of two beautiful young Daughters’.  She works very hard to provide for these girls. She is always on the run with gymnastics for both girls, softball for both of them as well as cheerleading for the oldest. Of course they are never at the same time or place. Throw in school and work, it leaves little time for much else.  Now with the accident, Megan is unable to do all of these things she loves to do with her girls.

Megan is in critical condition and in a medically induced coma. She sustained a serious head injury, collapsed lung, lacerated spleen, 7 broken ribs (R+L),2  fractured vertebrae, fractured sternum, multiple broken bones including; left femur, right femur( multiple locations), right tibia/right fibula, multiple bones in her right foot, right humerus /left humerus, left ulna, and left radius. All these injury's will require multiple surgery's.

She will be hospitalized for many months with rehabilitation and a lengthy recovery. As you can imagine the other drivers insurance will not cover all of the costs. There are also the day to day costs for the girls and the monthly bills just don’t stop. We are asking for your thoughts and prayers along with any emotional and financial assistance you can give Megan and her family.

We will continue to keep you updated on Megan's journey to recovery.

Good afternoon family and friends. Megan is doing pretty good. She is at the rehab hospital now and they are working with her to get her brain to start processing everything correctly. She is doing really well with her memory of people. She knows just about everyone that has came to see her or that she has been shown a picture of. She is still having a lot of issues with her short term memory and becomes confused easily when given too many instructions.
She is still bedridden for the most part. She cannot put any weight on her right leg and foot nor on her arms. It makes it difficult for her to do anything for herself. They have started getting her up into a wheelchair a little the past few days. It definitely helps lift her spirits to get out of the bed for awhile. She still does not remember the accident or why she is in the hospital and in so much pain, even though she has been told many times. It is probably her brain's way of dealing with the situation and all the pain for the time being.
A big thank you to all of you for your continued support and prayers at this difficult time. She still has a long journey ahead of her. The rehab hospital cannot give us a definite timeline for her length of stay. It will be a few more months for sure within the hospital setting then hopefully she will graduate to an outpatient rehab. We will just have to see how she progresses.
Please continue to share her story with everyone you know, the more people see it the more prayers she gets. We believe in the power of prayer! Your support and prayers are appreciated and helping her and her daughters.
God Bless you all!

Good afternoon family and friends, Megan is continuing to get better. It has been a busy week for her. She started therapy this week while she was still at North Kansas City to try to get her muscles and joints working again. She was transferred out to a rehabilitation hospital on Friday. This hospital is going to continue to help her with her therapy. They started first thing Saturday morning. She was evaluated by physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. They will come up with a good plan to help her get back to a normal life. She still cannot put any weight on her right leg because of the recent surgery on her foot but they will be able to work around that. She is still in a lot of pain. She still doesn’t gave all her memory back but it does improve each day and I have faith that with her treatment and prayers that she will be able to get them all back!

Good morning friends,
Megan is in surgery again this morning. They are finally able to go in and fix her right foot. The surgeon said she would need lots of screws and a plate to fix it. All her other bone injuries are healing nicely. She is improving each day mentally also. She is starting to recognize more people and her speech is much better. She still doesn’t always answer questions appropriately nor carry on a conversation but like I said each day is an improvement and we will take it. If all goes well with surgery we are hoping to be able to have her transferred to a brain injury rehabilitation hospital so they can start working with her. She will need one more surgery in two or three weeks to do a skin graft on her lower right leg.
Thank you all for the prayers and the support! Please continue to share her GoFundMe page and her story! We appreciate all that you are doing for her and her girls!
