Help Meagyn

Donation protected
This is my sister Meagyn. She is 11 years old. Meagyn is the daughter of a single mother of 6 living on medical disability. For the last two years she has stood by and witnessed as her mother battled stage 4 cancer which required multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

Throughout this hard time Meagyn remained strong for her mother and herself. Her mother beat the cancer and has since had clean scans for several months.

Over the last few months Meagyn began experiencing frequent headaches and nausea. Which the doctors thought were brought in by stress and anxiety.

On Wednesday June 21st Meagyn collapsed while out running errands with her mother. She was rushed to the UW hospital where they performed an MRI due to her altered mental state. They discovered a brain tumor roughly the size of an apricot on her cerebellum that was blocking the cerebrospinal fluid from draining from the brain as it normally does. This was causing swelling in the cranial cavity that required an immediate draining of the fluid to relieve the pressure. Due to the size of the tumor it required immediate attention. After a grueling 18 hour surgery. The surgeons were able to remove 95% of the tumor but had to leave 5% due to its proximity to the nerves.

But the fight is not yet over. The road to recovery is a long and bumpy one. Meagyn seems to be in good spirits all things considered.

We have set up this gofundme account in order to raise money for Meagyn. The financial burden this disease creates does not stop at just medical expenses. There will be numerous trips to the hospital for followup visits, therapy and other treatments.  This money will help to eleviate some of that strain as well as provide Meagyn with something nice once she has recovered.

If you do not feel comfortable with donating directly to this Campaign, any other donations are appreciated. Please feel free comment below or contact us and we will contact you with information on other ways to help.

No one deserves this disease, but especially not a little girl who had already endured the heartache and pain of watching her mother go through this. She deserves something great.

Please donate if you can and share this with those who you think would like to help.
