Help me support the Autism Speaks Walk

Donation protected
I am not usually one to ask for help or assistance, I am usually the one more comfortable offering that to other people but in the case of my nephew Noah I am willing to make an acceptance.

On September 15th 2019 I will be taking part in an Autism Speaks Fundraising walk in New York with my Mum and my Aunty. Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the life span, for the needs of people with autism and their families.  They do this Increasing Global Understanding and Acceptance, Advancing Breakthroughs in Autism Research, Expanding Early Childhood Screening and Intervention, Improving the Transition to Adulthood and Ensuring Access to Reliable Information across the Life Span.

Most people who know me know that learning and children are very important to me and have greatly shaped my life and career and is the reason I am supporting this walk.

I am walking in honour of my nephew Noah who has been diagnosed with Autism and encompasses all the good things in life- the joy of a great joke and belly laugh, the importance of knowing the time zones all around the world (including calling your Aunty in Sydney at 5am to ask if she knows what time it is in New York- I did but that wasn't really the point at that hour!). Noah always recognises the importance of spending time with family whether it is on a picnic lunch or pancakes with his Uncle for Breakfast Sunday. Speaking of food Noah is always my partner in crime when it comes to sneaky trips to the supermarket for those potato chips we just have to try and he always recognises the importance of a good breakfast 'especially toast'.

So if you ever need someone to tell you about the weather, the time zones of the world, the temperatures of capital cities, the importance of inputting the word iphone or siri into any conversation or just someone to remind you of the simple pleasures in life- love, laughter and potato chips- then Noah is your man. And he is and always has been 'my man' since he was born and this is why I am doing this walk for him.

Any donation would be greatly appreciated and accepted. Thank you.
