My name is Matt. I'm a 27 year old gay man currently living in Connecticut, near Hartford. I've spent the past Nine years of my life struggling to stay on my own two feet without asking for help.
Unfortunately, I'm not asking just for me.
My best friend and roommmate is currently struggling with really horrific PTSD and anxiety, and while he's in the process of trying to work through it with therapy and medication, right now he's unable to work. Which leaves me and my minimum wage job the only source of income our home has.
We live with his father, a 75 year old geologist who's been using his retirement money to keep us afloat.
We're behind. Matt has been giving as much as he can by way of his credit card, but we're running out of space and options. So here I am.
This money would be used to give us some breathing room- allow us to pay off several of our debts (Heating oil, phone, electric.) and get ahead on rent by a month.
I've tried not to ask for help to stand on my own, but I can't keep doing all of this alone. It'd be a huge help and a massive relief in these uncertain times that kindness and humanity still triumph. It would mean the world to me and my best friend.
