Help me pay for housing/get on my feet!

$915 of $7,000 goal

Hello. I'm a 31-year-old woman and I've re-enrolled at the University of Maryland at College Park to pursue a professional degree in sociology. Unfortunately, I'm still living in my parents' home in Gaithersburg, which is difficult for a number of reasons (I don't drive, so I have to take the bus, which is about a 2-and-1/2-hour commute, both ways; living there is just an overall toxic environment with drama and pressure, which hasn't been conducive to healing my depression and balancing my schoolwork and other needs, etc.). I have depression, anxiety, and chronic pain that's made finding consistent part-employment difficult as well.

UPDATE: On December 13, I was informed that I've been approved for on-campus housing for next semester. It's wonderful, but as shown in a recent update, financial aid won't cover it all (since I'd planned to live off-campus all year). So my goal now is to raise enough money to pay for room and board and have enough for necessities like textbooks before January 26th, which is Move-In Day (hence changing the category to "Emergencies"). From there, any additional funds raised will go toward saving for a more permanent housing situation (at least, rent for an off-campus room/apartment). Any way you could help would be much appreciated!

In school ATM...with that and my chronic pain, my best option for work is remote opportunities...which are harder to find than people make them sound.

I'm more or less on my own now, so I'm trying to sustain an independent living situation. Please keep sharing ; this apartment is only for this semester, and I think a better option might be subsidized housing come summer time (unless I get an internship in which case...I'll keep you posted!).

As it turns out, I don't need to have the bill paid in full before move in; just by the time I need to register for Fall 2019 classes come March. So, that's good news. I'm still keeping this going, and I plan to get a job on or near campus (it'll be more accessible) so I can get this bill paid and keep saving for a more permanent spot. Thank you all so much for your continued support!

Good news and bad news, friends.

Good news: I qualified for on-campus housing next semester!

Bad news: Financial aid won't cover it all.

I can move out of my folks' place in January, but I'm going to need help. I already applied for one $1000 scholarship, and I'm looking for more. Please keep sharing and help me out if you're able!
