Help me care for my best friend

For anyone who knows me, they know how much I freaking love  my cat. He's my baby, my "fur"st child, and my best friend. Of the 9 years I've had him, he's never left my side, through my pregnancy, and even now with a 1 year old. He naps and sleeps with us and my 1 year old lights up the second she sees him after waking and crawls over to give him the biggest hug. Whenever she's sleeping, he's always close by snoozing away along with her.

On Thurday Pip started to exhibit strange behavior with panting and labored breathing. I rushed him to the emergency vet only to find that he wasn't showing any signs of distress and all vitals were clear. That was expected of him, he has always been as healthy as a horse. I must've  been overly cautious!

Unfortunately, Saturday night I stood up to watch him sleep, like the crazy obsessed mom I am. I noticed his breating was more rapid than usual, I counted them. 44 breaths per minute. Sunday morning my sister came by to confirm my fears of his breathing being off. I took him back into the emergeny vet and they confirmed the absolute worse thing I could ever hear- Pip is going through congestive heart failure.

As of today, hes been at the emergency vet under oxygen for 24 hours with intravenous treatmet of lasix to pull the fluids from his lungs. So far he is responding well to treatment but showing elevated numbers in kidney function so will continue to be monitored for the next 24 hours.

I am begging my friends and fellow animal lovers to help me fund his medical costs- so far they are projecting almost 4k in medical expenses. He must also see a cardiologist who will cost 1k just to see him within the next couple of weeks. I am embarassed to say the only insurance I have on Pip is accidental coverage, I never thought Pip would ever succumb to heart disease so needless to say this will set my family back financially. I cannot bear to turn town medical care for my baby so I am hoping to get some help, as little as it can be. Please help me give my Pip the best care he can get, start him on medications he will need to live comfortably for the rest of his life, and give my daughter her teddy bear back :(
