Hello. My name is Mark Jones. I'm a 33 year old man living in Liverpool, England. Unlike most people you would have met, I was raised in a high control religious cult which controlled almost all aspects of members lives through fear and the threat of removing their family from if anyone decided to leave.
I did actually leave this cult in 2016 and I lost my entire family: My mother, brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews. All people I'd known since birth are required to completely shun me. Members of this particular cult are not allowed to have friends outside of the religion, so when I left I found that I didn't know a single person in the real world. I had to start my life all over again at 31 years old.
Many people who leave cults and find themselves completely alone end up suffering from depression, self-harm, anxiety, low self esteem and some even resort to suicide.
Since leaving, I've been committed to helping others who've come out of cults and any high control group. I've done this by writing blogs, offering 1 on 1 help with members who are trying to leave, creating YouTube videos to help ex-cult members and, as well as caring for my 5yo daughter as a single parent and holding down a full-time job, I'm currently studying in University training to become a therapist and councilor to treat people who've also been in high control groups. It could be a religion, a cult or even an abusive relationship - I intend to help - FOR FREE. Nobody will ever be charged for my help in helping them to heal and get their lives back on track.
My goal is to incorporate hypnotherapy to best help clients overcome their anxiety, fear and feelings of self worth which are always damaged when exiting an abusive relationship.
To do this I'll be studying for a licensed course with Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training in Liverpool on March 2019. However, the course fee is £2760 - which will be impossible for me to raise on my own without help.
If you can help me to reach this goal, even with the smallest amount, I'd be very grateful and you'd be helping untold numbers of people in the future to overcome the anxiety, depression and self esteem issues.
