Help Mariah With Brain Surgery

PLEASE HELP MARIAH GET THE BRAIN SURGERY/TREATMENT
SHE NEEDS!

After her quality of life began to rapidly decline at age 18, in February of 2018  Mariah FINALLY got the answer to what was causing the headaches that had been plaguing her for over 4 years,  An MRI showed a cystic tumor on the pineal gland of her brain.   This is the geographical center of the brain. 

What does this mean for Mariah?   Her ears ring constantly, her eyes feel like they are being pushed out of her head from the inside out...her head is constantly under pain and pressure to the point of having to lay down and pain medicine does NOTHING but make her sicker. Her eyesight and hearing are deteriorating, she is dizzy, confused, and nauseated much of the time. Insomnia and fatigue are also a big part of this condition.

Mariah had a job and was halfway through her associates degree in science; the first step toward her goal of becoming a doctor. Due to her missed days of work and confusion she was fired and had to stop classes because she could not keep up . This has truly broken her heart.

Since the pineal gland is what regulates sleep,the mass   causes Mariah extreme insomnia and fatigue on top of her chronic pain that most of us can only imagine living with.  In May of 2018 she had a spinal tap and found out she also has developed dangerously high intracranial pressure....(which gone untreated, can cause strokes, brain hemorrhage, and death). Most days consist of 18 to 20 hours in bed..because laying down is the ONLY form of relief she has and even that relief is minimal.    Mariah needs YOUR help to get the surgery she desperately needs to get back to living again!  To follow her dreams, to go back to school.... to work on her goals....to enjoy moments in her life again. with friends, .family, and her beloved pets.

The pineal gland is in the geographical center of the brain. It is a difficult and risky place to do surgery. Mariah needs to travel to see multiple providers out of state.  She has already been to Houston and Dallas and is under the care of a neurologist in Dallas.  Although Mariah has insurance that will cover some of the surgery itself, there will be much out of pocket expense for her and the family.  There will be a large copay,  multiple trips to out of state......airfare,  lodging and living expenses while out of town, medical equipment, as well household bills that will pile up as mom will need to take a significant amount of time off work to provide care for Mariah and travel with her.
