Help Lucia Heal

THE STORY


Mid December 2018 Lucia was sent to emergency with a protruding left ear and swollen head from an ear infection. It had come up overnight. Upon admission to the hospital it was discovered the other ear was also infected. Given her antibiotic treatment began before pathology tests, the swabs came back inconclusive after several attempts to identify the bacteria. Lucia was in hospital on IV antibiotics for a week. Finally when the infection died down she returned home on Christmas eve. Lucia continued to be ill for the next 3 months, returning to hospital 3 more times. Both ears were excruciating, she suffered headaches, migraines, digestive issues, vertigo, nausea and extreme weight loss during this time. She was unable to function normally and as she likes to put it ‘horizontal most of summer’. After much strength and determination she managed to start feeling ‘ok’ by following an (even more) immune supportive lifestyle. Despite the odd earache she was ‘thriving’ again March- June. Late June she returned to her GP feeling unwell again. Ear swabs revealed she had MRSA infections in both ears, middle and outer. A particularly resistant strain. After initial treatment failed, the infection worsened again and she was sent to hospital early July. The infectious diseases and ENT specialists scrambled to find a way to treat it, realising quickly that her strain was resistant to all ear drops. This was devastating news as the infections primarily require topical treatment; IV antibiotics wouldn’t be enough. The only option to try was IV Vancomycin, which was begun then quickly halted as Lucia had a severe allergic reaction to the medicine. After ‘trying’ something else that didn’t work and two more hospital trips, Lucia realised the doctors did not have the answer - they admitted ‘there’s not much more we can do for you’ and put her on a strong oral antibiotic to prevent the infection spreading. She is still taking this and trying everything possible to keep it ‘under control’ until she can afford a solution.


THE PRESENT SITUATION


Right now, Lucia has MRSA infections in both middle ears. It has become chronic and therefore much harder to treat. The proximity to her brain makes it very dangerous - these superbug infections can flare up and take hold rapidly. MRSA is life threatening and in many cases fatal. If this becomes systemic which can happen easily there are no IV antibiotics that will help her. Hence, Lucia needs our help, now.


A LITTLE BIT ABOUT LUCIA


‘Lucia’ means light and our Lucia lives up to her name each and every day through the loving energy she radiates and her actions towards others. She has devoted her life to the service of humanity through her healing work and as her personal expression of love on this planet has expanded, she has many times expressed the desire to grow her business into a for purpose organisation that will help people across the globe with healing, true wellness  and spiritual education. Without her own physical health, however, she cannot hope to achieve this. None of us can underestimate the importance of physical health in being able to live our purpose. It is not obvious why she has succumbed to this as she is one of the most health conscious people I know. Having experienced so much pain, Lucia has an absolute willingness to heal. 
She requires specialist integrative medical treatment and Panchakarma to restore her to good health once the infection has been eradicated. 

We need to get Lucia well so she can continue to shine her light upon the world, and if we each give what we can, the world will be blessed millions of times over. Please give from the heart whatever you can. Each and every bit counts and will go a long way to restoring Lucia to optimum health. The power is in all of our hands!
