Help Leeno and Poncha - feline Asthma and HCM

Hello,

as many of you already know (thanks to Instagram where you can find us under fluff_twins), we're Katja and Tobi from Berlin, Germany and our cats, the twins Poncha & Leeno, were diagnosed with feline asthma after a long diagnostical procedure only a couple of months after they moved in with us when they were only 11 weeks old.

Feline Asthma means that the lives of Poncha & Leeno depend on medication that they have to take for the rest of their lives.
In particular this means that we inhale with both cats 2 times a day. Every day. Beyond that, Leeno suffers from a HCM which means that he needs to take additional medication to support his heart on a daily basis.
Due to the fact that we rescued them from a family that used their cats as „reproduction machines“ (their mom had 4 litters within one year!), Poncha & Leeno have an extremely fragile immune system.
That means that they get sick easily and that we spent about 13000€ within the first year since they moved in with us.
Beyond that, we spent a lot of money on the drugs their lives depend on on a daily basis and the drugs they need when they get sick due to their weak immune systems.
As you can imagine, we want to provide them with all the medical care they need so we can enable them a normal, happy life. Unfortunately, our financial resources are shrinking rapidly and we won’t be able to afford the medical costs on a long-term basis. On average, they have to see the doctor every 3-4 weeks and on most occasions, the final bill is way more than 400€.
Their asthma meds are about 60€/month, both need x-rays of lung/heart every 3-6 months (80€ each) and ultrasound of the heart with an echo (120€ each) twice a year. It's an ongoing thing.

We can’t imagine to abandon them into a shelter. We love Poncha & Leeno so much and at the same time we know that giving them to a shelter would mean that nobody wants a cat with feline asthma. That thought alone is killing us.
So really, there’s no way for us to give them away!

Hallo,

wie viele von Euch (dank Instagram, wo wir als fluff_twins zu finden sind) bereits wissen, sind wir Katja und Tobi aus Berlin und haben, kurz nachdem wir die Kater-Zwillinge Leeno & Poncha im Oktober 2017 mit 11 Wochen aufgenommen haben, nach einem langen Diagnostik-Marathon erfahren, dass leider beide an felinem Asthma leiden und ihr Leben lang Medikamente benötigen werden.
Konkret heißt das, dass wir mit beiden 2x am Tag inhalieren. Jeden Tag.
Leeno leidet zusätzlich an einer (noch nicht allzu starken) HCM, und beide haben ein stark geschwächtes Immunsystem aufgrund ihrer Herkunft aus einer Vermehrer-Familie. Ihre Mutter musste allein in 2017 4x (!) werfen, was wohl genug aussagt...

Bei jeder kleinen Krankheit, die in der Luft liegt, heben beide also permanent die Pfoten und rufen laut „ja, hier, ich nehme es!“. 

So kam es, dass allein ihr erstes Jahr bei uns bis dato Tierarztkosten in Höhe von ca. 13000€ verursacht hat.
Hinzu kommen die täglichen Medikamente zum Inhalieren und Leenos Herztabletten, sowie all die Medizin, die für die Gastritis, Zystitis, den Magendarm-Virus, die Wurmkur und die Giardien-Infektionen etc. bisher anfielen. 
Es ist ein ständig fortlaufender Prozess.

Wie Ihr Euch evtl. vorstellen könnt, wollen wir ihnen jegliche medizinische Hilfe zukommen lassen, die sie benötigen, aber leider reichen unsere Reserven nicht aus, um noch mehrere Jahre lang regelmäßig Tierarztrechnungen in diesen Höhen begleichen zu können.

Wir wollen die beiden auf keinen Fall wieder hergeben, und es würde sich wohl auch niemnd finden, der sie mit den Krankheiten und damit verbundenen Kosten aufnehmen würde. Wir lieben sie unheimlich, wir kümmern uns mit allen Kräften (und soooo gern!) um sie, aber noch mehrere dieser Tierarzt-Odysseen werden wir in nächster Zeit nicht stemmen können. 

Also haben wir uns und unseren Stolz überwunden und sehen leider keine weitere Möglichkeit, als Euch um Eure Hilfe zu bitten.

Allein die Asthmamedikamente kosten monatlich 60-70€, alle 3-6 Monate müssen beide zum Thorax-Röntgen (je Kater 80€) und zum Herz-Ultraschall mit Echo (je Kater 120€), Leeno bekommt außerdem täglich eine Tablette für sein Herz.
Wir sind außerdem im Schnitt alle 3-4 Wochen wegen irgendeiner anderen Sache in der Tierklinik, und selten gehen wir mit einer Rechnung heim, die bei Behandlungsabschluss kleiner als 400€ ist.

Alle bisherigen Rechnungen der Tierärzte liegen in schriftlicher Form vor, einen Teil haben wir in einem Update hier bereits hochgeladen, und wer Einsicht nehmen möchte, um zu prüfen, wie ehrlich wir hier mit Euch sind, kann natürlich jederzeit weitere Fotos oder Scans davon bekommen.

Wir freuen uns über jeden Euro/Dollar, denn wir können uns absolut nicht vorstellen,  die beiden wieder abzugeben oder ihnen bei weiteren Krankheiten/Notfällen aus finanziellen Gründen die medizinische Behandlung verweigern zu müssen, die sie benötigen würden. Ihre Lebenserwartung ist durch das alles sowieso schon geringer als bei anderen Katzen, und solange sie können, sollen sie das beste Leben bei uns haben, das wir ihnen ermöglichen können.
Wir möchten zumindest die nächsten 1-2 Jahre ärztliche Hilfe mit Eurer Hilfe abdecken können, ohne uns permanent Sorgen zu machen, ob wir uns die nächste Behandlung noch leisten können.
