Help Put Kim on the Road with an Accessible Van!

Internationally known eventing rider Kim Meier was at the top of her game in 2007 when a catastrophic riding accident left her permanently paralyzed from the neck down.

Kim is mentally tough and lives as independently as she can, but she is reliant upon her wheelchair, a small circle of caregivers… and a wheelchair-accessible van that has seen better days.

Kim’s van has begun to break down on a regular basis and is, in some areas, literally held together by duct tape.  The term accessible is used loosely, as her van is difficult to get in and out of; the wheelchair lift is defunct.  Only a few people know how to safely situate Kim inside. 

It’s time to get Kim a new van! With reliable transportation, she will be able to get to her doctors’ appointments and also continue to help support herself by judging horse shows and giving occasional clinics and lessons. (That’s right—despite the severity of her disability, Kim still works when she can.)
