Hello, my name is Kelly Horsfall and I am 21 years old. I am in my 2nd year at Manchester Metropolitan University studying Fashion Design and Technology.
I was recently selected to be a member of the England National Karate Team. I will be competing at the Senior European Championships as part of the Senior Female Team Kata. The competition will be held in Turkey at the start of May 2017.
This will be my third time representing England at a national championships. I have previously competed at the Junior European Championships in Azerbaijan and the Junior World Championships in Malaysia. This will be my first time competing in the Senior European Championships which is a great achievment and I am very lucky to have this opportunity.
As karate is a non-funded sport, I am looking to raise some funds to help me get to the competition. I would like to raise somewhere around £700, this should cover the cost of the flights, hotels and any travelling and training expenses.
I have had a very successful career in karate, and hope for this to continue longterm. I will be very appreciative of anybody who is able to offer a contribution and would like to say a very big thank you in advance.
