My name is Pam Fears. I am the sole provider of a local animal rescue in Gassville, Arkansas, and at my peak, this is exactly how many cats and kittens relied on me for food and shelter. Now, though the number is less, I need even more help:
Earlier this year, I lost my husband unexpectedly to cancer. During his lifetime, it was our mission to protect, love, and care for as many helpless creatures as we could. Together we sunk all of our retirement savings into rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing strays and abandoned animals in the Mountain Home/Gassville area; now I am struggling to survive myself.
On top of mourning my late husband's passing, I am currently in the process of losing my home due to funeral, medical and animal bills. But my fur babies still need a warm home and food to keep them safe this winter!
This is where you come in:
Though I am doing my best to find homes for my remaining rescues, there is much left to be done and I am running out of time! As freezing temperatures approach, my goal is to purchase a small building and winterize it to keep the animals safe while I continue to find their perfect forever homes. However, my only sources of income are social security disability benefits. I am heartbroken not to be able to keep any of the little ones myself, but the home in which I will be staying is not suited for quite so many tenants. Unfortunately, I can see no other choice.
What I need:
In order to reach my goals of continuing to care for unhoused cats and kittens, I will need the following as soon as possible. Please know that anything helps!
· $3,500: for the purchase of a small building.
· $750: for winterization and pet safety measures.
· $750: for rescue food and medical procedures.
I need all the help I can possibly get making sure these vulnerable creatures stay safe over the coming months. Please consider helping in any way you can; lives are depending on it!
