UPDATE 3 JUNE 21, 2018:
Good Morning. I wanted to share a current update regarding my medical condition. On June 10, 2018 I was informed by my neurosurgeon that I would require another surgery on my cervical spine. The procedure is a cervical fusion. This is a delicate operation that will require approximately 8 to 10 hours of detailed surgical intervention. I will have to have a surgical incision in the front of my neck to stabilize my cervical spine. I will also be having a steel cage placed around my cervical vertebrae. They will then turn my head down so that an additional incision will be placed in the back of my neck so that the harrington rods which were removed at the beginning of the procedure will be reattached to my cervical spine.

To say the least I am nervous as hell as the potential risks of the surgery include paralysis. I will be under anesthesia for 8 to 10 hours, which has its own inherent risks.

This is a critical time in my life as I am only 34 years old and the prospect of having to learn to walk again is a scary thought. I have just gone through 2 months of hell with intense pain that keeps me from sleeping at night. I am required by my physicians to take strong pain medications, which does not thrill me, because of their own risks.

Once I am out of the hospital and intensive care I will need all of the financial and emotional support that I can get.

I am asking you to help in anyway that you can. The amount of your donation is not my main concern so if you can contribute anything it would be greatly appreciated.

God bless you and I sincerely thank you.
Help spread the word!

UPDATE 2: I now have no one to help care for me every day to complete simple every day tasks as the person that was caring for me had to leave due to a family emergency. Now I really need to raise a decent bit of money so I can try to hire someone to come in and assist me daily. I seem to be running into obstacle after obstacle trying to get this whole situation under control. ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!

UPDATE 1: Today on May 16, Justin went in for a follow up visit with his surgeon. He was told that the first surgery did not do as well of a job as they had hoped. Justin was told that he could try the less invasive surgery first with hopes that it would work, but unfortunately the doctor told him he needed to have another surgery in one month. The surgery is much more invasive, and they have to go in through the front of his throat and go between his two main arteries to perform the surgery on the three broken vertebrae. In addition he has also developed something known as a frozen shoulder and cannot use his left arm at all. We were hoping that the original surgery would do the trick but it did not. It is becoming more and more evident on a daily basis that Justin will not have the financial means to continue living in his apartment and being able to deal with the financial responsibilities he has.  IT WILL TRULY BE A BLESSING IF YOU CAN HELP, NO MATTER HOW SMALL THE AMOUNT TO HELP HIM MAKE IT THROUGH THIS TRAUMATIC PART OF LIFE.

As you may know, or maybe you don’t now but Justin is a very hard worker and has a ton of work ethic. Please do not look at this as him trying to look for a handout, rather look at this as him asking you to help him get through the most difficult time he’s ever had in his life. He has required 24 hour care every day since the surgery. This is a very difficult time and we are just asking anyone that can help to help him out as much as possible so he can keep a roof over his head and food in his refrigerator. Seeing as how he cannot work we are not sure how he’s going to get through this without your help. Anything you may be able to help out with is very much appreciated he plans to pay it forward as soon as he has recovered.

On April 10th Justin dove head first into the Ocean and misjudged the wave and broke his neck. He was trauma hawked to Lawnwood hospital and had to undergo neck surgery on April 11th for a burst fracture at C4-C5 and C6.  He has rods and screws from C3 through C6.  He was hospitalized for 10 days and now is in need of intensive physical therapy.  The recovery period can be up to 2 years.  He has very limited use of his arms and hands.  He is unable to perform any work at this time.   He is need of funds to help assist with medical treatment and his daily financial needs. He needs the funds to help survive from a financial standpoint.  Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated and be a blessing in his life.  He would love to be able to get back to his photography but will not be able to do that until he has the use of his hands and fingers.  Photography is an important part of his life and will be very therapeutic for his recovery and emotional state.  PLEASE HELP.  Thank you for any assistance you can provide. Any amount is greatly appreciated.

THANK YOU and God Bless You.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to post an update as I haven’t put anything on in a while. I am still unfortunately in pretty much the same position that I was before. I am still not able to work very much, and I am in constant agonizing pain 24 hours a day seven days a week. They are not sure if or when any improvements may happen. It could be permanent damage but too soon to tell. I have started my physical therapy as well as occupational therapy and I’m hoping that will give me some sort of relief.
I was denied Social Security disability all because I own a corporation even though my business has suffered dramatically due to my injury. I am unable to sit at a desk for long periods of time and I always need to go lay down because of all the pain. I also cannot concentrate or think straight half the time because of the pain. I get woken up in the middle of the night multiple times due to the pain which makes it hard the next day to wake up early enough to have a productive day. The medications also make me drowsy which does not help anything either. I would never wish this on my worst enemy.
If you know me you know I am a very hard worker and it is extremely frustrating to not be able to work simply because my body will not allow me to. If something does not change soon I am going to lose my car, my cell phone, and I have already lost the roof over my head. If anyone can help it would be so much appreciated. Anything and I mean anything would help right now, I literally can barely afford to buy food for myself. I lost my apartment and I am currently living in an office that is how bad this has all gotten.
Thank you so much, I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and a very happy new year.

I hope everyone is doing well, and that you are all healthy and happy. It has now been six months since I had the horrible accident breaking my neck. This has been the hardest and longest 6 months of my life. Yes I am able to walk thank God, but what a lot of people don't realize is that my upper body suffers from partial paralysis on the left side. I am in tremendous pain every day from the nerve damage and I probably have the strength of a weak 5 year old child. My business has suffered terribly and I cannot work. I know I was very blessed to have as many people help me out but if anyone could spare anything to help me I would greatly appreciate it!

On June 27, 2018 Justin underwent a 9 hour surgery. The surgery was a cervical fusion to correct a defect in his cervical spine. The surgery was performed by Dr. Allan Levy of the University of Miami, department of Neurosurgery. Dr. Levy is the head of the department of the University of Miami.
Justin is in tremendous pain as his surgery involved intervention into the anterior and posterior portion of his cervical spine. First surgery was performed on the rear of his neck and then the front of his neck and finally again to the rear of his neck.

The financial burden on us as his parents is only going to grow exponentially. We are currently paying every bill that Justin has including his rent, electric and all other bills related to his life.

Anything that you can contribute would be greatly appreciated.
