Help John Slack get better.

I'm writing this on behalf of my good friend John Slack of whom I have known for 25 years. He s a great person who is kind, thoughtful and caring. John is always upbeat, funny and has a great story to tell. Many may remember him from starting The Adam and Eve Nightclub.
As you may already be aware john has been fundraising to bring Phil Ryan back to the UK, as he has Alzheimer's his condition is rapidly deteriorating and John, his wife and mother took pity on him and took him in caring for him 247. Whilst sharing his home and trying to do the best for Phil, John developed a horrific infection in his hand which put him in hospital (there is no free healthcare in Thailand). The infection spread so rapidly and John was forced to have 1 finger and part of his palm removed. As well as 4 antibiotic drips a day, every 6 hours. John was in the hospital for a total of 18 days.
The doctor gave John the all clear so went home for 3 weeks, on returning to the hospital for a general check-up, the doctor was alarmed and John was rushed into surgery that afternoon. Which again put him back into hospital for 2 weeks, he was then on outpatient care with antibiotics and daily visits for an hour of powerful antibiotic drip for 10 days.
The doctor then decided this wasn't enough and readmitted John, he has been in hospital since and had an MRI Scan, the bacteria has moved to his right foot, his hand is now clear, but sadly the foot is proving more difficult to eradicate the bacteria. The surgeon has told John if can't get the bacteria out his foot the only option would be amputation. Another option suggested has been to use a hyperbaric chamber treatment, which realises oxygen and kills the bacteria, and can help to heal. This would be a 20-day process.
As you can imagine over the last 3 months John has been in and out of the hospital and unable to work, his business is suffering as he cannot advertise or work, as he's self-employed this has put extra stress and worry for John, as he has now used a lot of his savings.
I appreciate John is a proud man and certainly wouldn't instigate this collection but as a friend, I would like to try and help John get over this infection and get back to life with his family and work. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much for your help and support.
