Help Playbill Joel - Pay His Bills!
Now that I have gotten to know Joel a little bit better on a personal level, I have learned how passionate he is about that idea in every way. Regardless of his personal struggles, he remains dedicated to helping others whenever he can. And, when it comes to DCMTA, the man seriously runs himself ragged to get all of us - the big and little guys - exposure, listings, etc.
As many of you know Joel was recently diagnosed with ALS and is about to be overrun by mountains of bills. His insurance will only help with a percentage of the costs and he will have to come up with everything else. Unfortunately, the percentage he will be paying is high and good treatment is expensive. This breaks my heart. We cannot make him better and probably few of us can afford to pick up all of his medical bills, but if all of us little guys & gals kick in, we can make his life a little less stressful, and allow him to spend his time with his family, friends, and the theater (the man is a theater addict!)
So, please give $1, $13 or $100. We all have limitations, but we are all part of a unique community and together we can help out a man who has helped us all.
Please share with anyone you think might like to make a donation.

Last bit of news about this page:
Our updated goal is $30,000!! I am confident we can raise this amount together!! We are already more than half-way there!
I started THIS site with a goal of raising $10,000. I knew Joel needed more, but I was not sure how many donors to expect. Eight days, and $8,000 later, I raised the goal to $20,000. The treatments and other medical costs that come with ALS are enormous.
Several people have contacted me during this process saying I should raise the goal amount. I am doing so now, but please know that if people donate MORE than the goal amount, then Joel gets MORE than the goal amount. I would LOVE to see the numbers surpass our newest goal!
Thank you again for your contribution and please continue to share this site with others.
I hope to meet some of you at the cabaret!!
Good news! Here is another way you can help...

Joel and his doctors think his best treatment option is a very promising stem cell therapy. For this reason, I am raising our fundraising goal to $20,000. This is apparently the starting rate for this kind of treatment. The great news is we are already ALMOST HALF WAY THERE!!
Please share this with others and please contribute if you can!! All dollar amounts are welcome and appreciated.
If you are involved with a theater, production company, or are working on a show, please consider adding a link to the gofundme page on your home page, Facebook page or playbill.
Thank you. THANK YOU. tHANK You!!
In just 3 days, contributions from Joel's family, friends, coworkers, supporters, and fellow members of the theater community, have crossed the $8,000 mark!!
This outpouring of friendship and generosity is really inspiring.
I am so pleased to say that I think we will smash the original $10,000 goal (very soon!) and keep raising funds for Joel's medical expenses!! EVERY contribution helps and is appreciated.
Please continue to re-post and share this page with others who might like to contribute!
