Help Jason w/ Medical Transport
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jason. I'm the happy Father of 2 boys. I'm also the Husband to my beautiful, loving wife who has become my chauffeur. I've been a type 1 diabetic since the age of 4 and was diagnosed with celiac disease a few years ago. Since then my kidneys have stopped working and I have been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease.
I travel 80 minutes (both ways) 3 times a week for dialysis treatment. I'm currently going through the screening process for a double surgery (pancreatic-kidney transplant) which involves a lot of travel to & from appointments on top of the travel to dialysis. It's quite costly and we do struggle. I have to meet with doctors that are 9 hours away from my home before my surgeries and after my surgeries, I will also be making it my home for a month & a half or more.
Unfortunately, with the amount that it's currently costing in gas on top of our regular bills & the cost of the special diets that I need to be on, we're unable to save enough money to assist with travel expenses for my surgery.
I was informed of this site by one of my dialysis nurses and thought I would reach out and tell my story. And let me tell you, it's difficult asking for help in such a way. But I'm sadly left with no other option.
I'd like to say thank-you in advance to anyone who kindly helps make this surgery possible. It's greatly appreciated by me, a Dad who misses swimming and sliding with his kids and who can't wait to have that back.
