Help get Jamieson to Korea to represent Australia!
Hi everyone, I always said I’d never do this but I’m having to swallow my pride & start this go fund me page for Jam. My daughter Jamieson is 15yrs old & has the condition Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2.
As some of you may be aware, midway through this year Jamieson was ‘scouted’ as a potential talent whilst representing her school at an inter school Boccia tournament.
Boccia is a disability specific sport similar to indoor lawn bowls. It requires Jam to play up to 6 balls down a specially designed ramp (which I had imported from Korea) with the aim of being closest to the white ball/jack. Jam must line up her ramp with the assistance of her ramp assistant (currently myself at the moment) & then push her selected ball down her ramp with the aid of an extended poker.
Jam, being the typical determined girl that she is, has done so exceeding well in the sport that she has been selected to represent Australia in Korea 2-9th July this year.
She will also be required to participate in 1 or 2 more overseas tournaments representing Australia in 2019 to gain invaluable experience competing against international competitors in the lead up to the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.
Each trip overseas costs $10,000 so I have set a target goal of $15,000to go towards Jams travelling expenses.
without this money, Jam will be unable to compete unfortunately.
