Please Help Jamie Hayes

As you may know, Jamie, needs a kidney transplant.  She is currently on dialysis 3 days a week.  Each session takes hours.  Jamie was active on transplant list and hopeful for someone to step forward and be her kidney donor. 

At this time, Jamie is no longer active on the transplant list because she has been suffering from multiple medical issues, related to her disease.  She currently is on medications to fight an infection that has literally knocked her down.  Once she is well enough for a transplant, she will become active on the transplant list, again.  However it can take years to receive a kidney from a deceased donor, what would be best for Jamie is a living donor.  A living donor is simply someone who volunteers to donate their kidney to her.  Jamie is in a fight right now and needs our help!!!  Her children are 5yr old and 6yr old and they need their Momma well!!

The progression of Jamie’s illness has created a financial hardship for her, as well.  She is no longer able to work and is currently on leave of absence from her position, as a Winnebago County Social Worker.  She has held this position through multiple health issues and worked there faithfully over the last 20yrs.  Losing the ability to work has been devastating for her and her children.  She no longer qualifies for her private insurance and is in the process of applying for disability.  However, it may take more than a year for her disability claim to be approved.
