Help Jamie and Ryan Move to their Support Network

My partner of four years, Jamie, and I have been living with Jamie's parents for two years or so together; Jamie for its whole life. Jamie's mother is psychologically abusive and demands far too much from us, as well as basically trapping us in the basement to avoid her.

I have been unable to work for almost a year because I need to take care of her in one way or another. Taking care of a new puppy she doesn't need, watching the house, mismanaging her medication due to 'not trusting doctors'. It is exhausting to live within her household. I do not get time to myself or my partner, get enough sleep, nor do we feel safe here any longer. She has been a dedicated Republican for years and is directly opposed to LGBTQA+ views, even insisting on dead-naming and misgendering Jamie.

Jamie has had long-term nerve issues due to an accident as a child. It is unable to hold down a job and requires injections to manage the pain. As a disabled individual, Jamie has been attempting to get disability, and if it does get it, its mother plans to take the entire settlement.

Enough is enough. We need to get out of here before she traps us here for good. To that end, we’re asking for help.

What we are putting this fund up for includes the following: moving expenses, a deposit on a small apartment, some rent for the first couple of months while we get settled, groceries. We have nothing saved. The move is from Central Michigan to Northern Illinois.

Please help us, we can’t take this anymore. Thank you for your time and consideration.
