Randi's Road to Hope

Donation protected
Some of you may have seen the recent news story about the dog that had gone missing after her owner was involved in a car accident on I80.  But, for those of you that haven't...

Randi Marks was traveling with her two dogs when she was involved in a four vehicle accident in Nebraska on Interstate 80, mile marker 386, on 3-1-18.  After the accident occurred, one of the dogs, a chocolate lab named Copper Penny, was recovered quickly.  However Hope, her 10 month old Daschund/Lab mix, was very frightened and ran.

Randi suffered two broken legs, broken ribs and a collapsed lung and currently is  recovering in a Lincoln, NE hospital where she will remain for approximately 6-8 weeks before being able to return home to Chicago.

While dozens of people had searched every day since the accident, any promise of finding Hope alive was dashed on 3-6-18 when little Hope's lifeless body was recovered off the side of the road, approximately one mile from the accident scene.

Those of us that were involved in the search would like to have Hope cremated and are asking for your help in the form of donations.  We would also like to purchase a cremation urn to place her ashes in before returning her to Randi.

Others have continued to ask what else they can do to help Randi with her recovery efforts.  So, any donations  received that exceed the cost of the above mentioned will be given to Randi to help assist with expenses for her return trip home and also to assist with her her daily living expense while recuperating once she arrives home.  She wants nothing more than to be able to be well enough to have her remaining dog, Copper Penny (currently under the care of her brother) home with her again as well.  However, before that can happen, she must not only get back on her feet literally, but financially as well.

After talking to Randi, its clear that she's amazed at the kindness shown to her so far by complete strangers in the State of Nebraska and that she is more than appreciative.   She told me , "I have always given unconditional love to people my entire life.  This is the first time in my life that I have had other people show me the same ."

Thank you in advance for helping Randi take Hope home with her in a respectful and loving way and also for helping Randi return home to Copper Penny.
