Our dear friend Jennifer McNally’s husband Greg McNally has been fighting for his life after contracting West Nile Virus, and his family is facing an incredibly long and difficult road to recovery.

Greg has now been in the hospital for more than six weeks. Because he did not have the antibodies needed to fight the virus, the infection progressed to his brain, causing encephalitis.

For weeks, Greg was unable to speak or eat. Today, he was finally able to speak and eat again, a huge milestone and a moment of hope for his family. But Greg still has a long way to go.

He is currently unable to walk unassisted or effectively move on his own. It has affected his right arm more acutely, and he continues to experience significant brain fog. His recovery will require extensive rehabilitation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech/cognitive therapy. The long term care picture is still unclear.

Jennifer has been by Greg’s side throughout this entire ordeal, navigating the uncertainty and doing everything she can to support her husband and their family.

Unfortunately, their insurance coverage has reached its maximum, leaving the family facing difficult choices about rehabilitation and its expense.

We are asking our friends, family, community, and anyone who feels moved by Greg's story to help give this family some financial breathing room. The money raised will help provide Greg with the therapy, rehabilitation, equipment, and care he will need once he is released from the hospital.
