Jake Larson is a WWII veteran who is trying to get to France this June for the 75th
anniversary celebration of D-Day.  He was devastated to find out that the Army will not
sponsor him due to the fact all of his military records were destroyed in a fire in 1970!

The goal of this campaign is to send Jake and his son to France for the historic anniversary and celebration of the service members who battled in the war and gave their lives for
their country.

Jake is 96 and is the ONLY living survivor from his military unit that stormed Omaha Beach
during the battle of Normandy in June  of 1944.

Jake has received a bronze star from the United States Army for his service.  In addition to the Bronze Star, the  French Republic  also awarded him the Legion of Honor, the most
prestigious decoration awarded in France.

Jake is a Martinez icon and is loved by so many people! If you've ever visited the Bagel
Street Cafe, in the Nob Hill shopping center, you've probably seen him sitting with his
buddies at their favorite table having a coffee. He's a wonderful man who has served his
country faithfully... please help us make his dream trip come true!!

Hi everyone,
Well it's official, we made our goal and more!! This Friday, April 12th we will be handing Jake over his final check from this campaign. It's been absolutely amazing and surreal to watch how this all happened in only 3 short months!

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared and helped Jake reach his goal. He told me the other night he's going to be writing the final chapter in his book after he comes back from his trip... he is BEYOND excited!

Angela and I feel so blessed to have been a part of this, but I have to say that the real blessing has been all of you... the people who helped and donated to make this trip possible. Since Jake is not very tech savvy I'm going to print up all the comments on this page so he has them to read. He's going to be so touched!

It's been 75 years and I can't think of anyone who deserves this more; we love you Jake!!
