Help Get Robin to Delaware

Donation protected
Robin is a six-year-old boy with diastrophic dysplasia which is a rare type of dwarfism that affects the growth of bones causing them to twist. Robin is an active little boy that loves camping, driving his tractor, playing with trucks and LEGO. His sister Tianna is Robin’s sidekick and a vital contributor to his happiness and quality-of-life ensuring there are no challenges too great for him to overcome.

Robin needs this surgery to help straighten his spine which will, in turn, improve the quality of his life.

The required surgery was attempted in Canada but his circumstances were more complex than the surgeons anticipated and they ran into complications that almost cost him his life.

There is an orthopaedic surgeon in Delaware who specializes in a little people and has experience with people who have diastrophic dysplasia. Robin would be expected to have an extended stay while in halo traction in attempt to straighten his spine as much as possible before installing metal rods along his spine to stabilize his future growth.

His family will need to be there for the initial surgery and his mother will be by his side through the lengthy process. In addition to the surgery itself, expenses will run high for flights, accommodations and food.

Every contribution is a step towards achieving our goal. Thank you for your donations!
