Help Fund Ms. Bell's Classroom

Hello!

So as some of you know, I’ve recently moved to Charlotte where I will finally be a teacher! I am SO excited to bring all of my professional experiences together to serve as just a foundation for who I’ll be and what I will do in the classroom. I believe so strongly in the power that the classroom has to empower students towards liberation through education, and I’m humbled that I've been prepared for such a time as this.

This year, I’ll be teaching 4th grade at a fantastic school in Charlotte. Specifically, I’ll be teaching 4th grade literacy and social studies while integrating the arts through experiential learning. It is a Title I school where 98% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. While many students might not be able to come to school with all the supplies they need, they will come ready to learn, full of potential to rise and excel as learners and leaders at their schools. My job right now in this context is to do my best to create a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment to empower them to flourish to their full potential.

**Imagine walking in to a space that is bare and boring or messy and disorganized, constantly changing. Would you feel very motivated to work?? Would you feel comfortable?? Then imagine walking in to a space that is organized, friendly, and efficient! I personally know that that makes a WORLD of difference in my own performance even as an adult!**

I, however, have no funds or resources to fill our classroom with the tools to create that space for them. I've been training for most of the summer without receiving a paycheck, and I won't receive one till after school starts. If you can help our kids, we would be forever grateful.

I’d like to raise $500 to help to fund our 4th grade classroom this year. 100% of the funds will go towards purchasing items to support my students. See below for items I’m looking to purchase. If I purchase all of these things in under $500, then the remainder will be saved to help fund activities with the students.
