Update: Unfortunately Willie passed away late Wednesday Feb 22, 2017 due to his injuries. His is survived by his wife and 2 children. Thank you all for your love and support. Everyone has been so amazing and words cannot begin to express the gratitude towards all of you. We are going to leave this open indefinitely to help support the family throughout this tragedy.

Willie Pedersen, loving husband, father, brother, and friend recently suffered a severe head injury. This resulted in Willie being admitted to the ICU where he is currently in a medical induced coma. He is fighting for his life with great strength as we all know Willie has. Unfortunatley we all know that the bills do not stop coming and this is something that his family should not have to worry about at this time. All who read this I ask if you can pray for his recovery and for his family. If you can help financially please do so. Thank you for everything that everyone has done and continue to do for this wonderful family.

THIS WAS RELEASED FROM MELISSA THIS MORNING : Yesterday was a GREAT DAY!!! Willie is doing even better with his breathing. Body temperature is maintaining at normal range. Pressure inside his brain came waaaay down to normal. External swelling came waaaay down. Any one of these things would have made for a great day, but God wasn't stopping with just one. The neurosurgeon came in again towards 4pm to see the progress. He smiled. Said if his pressures and other stuff ( he used more technical terms than "stuff" I assure you) stay like they were then we would start backing off the drugs keeping him in the coma starting the next morning. That would be TODAY!!! Already backing him off some stuff. But last night was not without a scare. I guess because of all the fluids that his kidneys were expelling ( and that was a good thing) he lost too much too quickly and his electrolytes became unbalanced. So I held his hand and talked softly to him as his heart raced at 180bpm for an hour. The doctor on nurses on last night worked quickly to get him potassium and some other things, but they can only work their way into the body through IV so quickly. Too fast and it could disrupt the heart more. The heart rate FINALLY worked it's way back to about 82bpm. The staff is still drawing labs and checking his electrolyte levels very closely. Nurses are amazing people. Rob was the RN last night, and he didn't leave the room. He shows such compassion for Willie and myself. Thanks be to God for keeping Willie's heart SO STRONG to hang in there while electrolyte levels were corrected. Here's to a great day ahead

I wanted to reach out to all of you to express my most sincere appreciation for all of your prayers and support. Thank you so very much for everything! Willie is making small but steady improvements. He is responding well to treatments, and is moving in the right direction. Despite the prognosis that was given on February 8th. It was only 4 days ago, but with Willie already beating the odds he was given then it feels like that day was so much more than 4 days ago. Willie is scheduled for another CT scan tomorrow morning. I look forward to providing more good news following the results of that tomorrow.

Steven (Blake) and I (Nancy Wilds) just learned of this tragic event tonight. There are no words to describe how we feel. Willie was our mechanic and he always came through when we needed him. He was the nicest person we ever met. Our thoughts are with you and your children.
