Help for Valour

Sadly, Valour passed away today. We want to extend an enormous thank you to everyone that donated and shared this story. Your support has meant so much to Alex and Lee during this sad time.
Valour, a 18-month old Leonberger-mix, has had a lot of ups and downs in his short life. Born with a neurological condition that affects his gait and coordination, Valour had to fight to learn to walk, sit, and go up and down stairs - milestones that most pups master in weeks or months.
Thankfully, Val was first fostered, and then adopted by a loving mom who has taken the time to take him to endless appointments with specialists, obedience courses to learn how to dog, and canoe rides, because he's a dog.
Two weeks ago, Val stopped eating. He has been tempted with the odd treat, like biscuits or burgers, but has not been his usual goofy self. He has now been admitted to the Alta Vista Emergency Vet Clinic, where he has received IV fluids and a nasogastic tube to help get some emergency calories into him.
So far, results have been inconclusive. He has been tests for parasites and obvious afflictions to no end. As best as his medical team can understand, something is attacking his liver, so Val will remain in the clinic until they can get to the bottom of it.
Valour's people are a retired couple who have opened their hearts and their home to a motley crew of foster dogs, from newborn puppies to geriatric and abandoned dogs. The dogs receive the care and love they need to help them find their forever families - though a couple, like Valour, are happily foster-fails.
While his family is willing to invest whatever it takes to get him healthy again, the bills are starting to add up. Alex and Lee have invested so much of their time and energy and personal funds helping to care for these needy dogs.
Any little bit that you are willing and able to donate will help offset the bills and also let them know they aren't alone during this difficult time.
