Help for Lucia

I met Lucia in Atlanta's Immigration Court.  She was somewhere in Georgia, and was videoconferened into the courtroom.  Three of her children were there, and was incredibly moved by their story.

Lucia is facing deportation, which would leave her three children alone in the United States (they are US citizens).  Lucia has been detained for almost a year. During this time, her two daughters were sexually assaulted. To fight her case, her two girls need psychological evaluations.  They had an appointment, but their uncle was unable to pay for the transportation to bring them into Atlanta and so they missed the appointment.

Lucia’s partner was deported three years ago and is no longer involved at all in the children’s lives. The children are being cared for by their uncle who has three children of his own. In total, he is having to provide for six children. Lucia has an attorney helping her fight her case pro bono but we need to raise funds for the for the phychological evaluations quickly before the the judge decides that Lucia must leave her family.
