Help For Justin Brinegar

Justin Brinegar has always been a lively, healthy kid. However, on April 3rd our Justin became suddenly nauseated and jaundiced. We have been at Children's Hospital Los Angeles where the doctors have discovered liver damage. As of the 26th, we still had no idea what could be causing Justin's problem. However, on the 27th, we had a diagnosis: secondary Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocystosis, or HLH for short. HLH is a rare autoimmune disease that in Justin, was triggered by an unknown virus. The doctors at CHLA have begun steroid treatment, amongst other medications, to try and help Justin get better. Recovery time is estimated to be months to years. Justin is a smart and sweet boy who is a great friend, a little brother, a loving son and grandson. Please help us and the doctors at Children's Hospital send our Justin home.
