Help for Chilean Firemen

Chile has become my second home, and today we are experiencing the worst forest fires in the history of the country. More than 180,000 hectares have been distroyed, 4 people have lost their lives, and homes, farmland, and livestock are being consumed by the flames. 

The firemen here in chile are 100% volunteers and are working around the clock to try and keep us safe. I feel fortunate that the flames have not yet reached the suburb where Miguel and I live and I thank all of the firemen for that. 

Although, the firemen are doing all they can to prevent the fires from spreding they are lacking equipment to work 100% effectively. Their biggest need at this time is a new firetruck that will help them access more of the fires and be able to transport more water to where it is needed. 

My birthday is next week and the best gift I could ever think of would be giving a significant donation to the fire department for their new truck. There is going to be an event this Sunday, Jan.  28t,  to raise money and I would love to be able to present a donation to this amazing cause. 

I would like to ask all my friends and family to consider donating to the volunteers that help keep me and my Chilean friends and family safe during this catastrophe. Every little bit helps, nothing is too small.
