HELP FOR BETTE AND JACK

For those of you who know our friend Bette, you know she is both a people person and an animal lover.  She has a heart of gold, and goes out of her way to be there for other people.  Over the many years I’ve known Bette, she has overcome more obstacles than most others will ever encounter in their lifetime.  She is a strong, independent woman who doesn’t ever like to lean on others for help.  She enjoys being the giver, the person who is always there for her friends.  She has “met” a few of my other friends while on FaceBook, and embraced them as her own, even going so far as to spend a week at (now our mutual friend) Inger’s house recently, taking care of her cat so Inger could go on vacation.  That’s the kind of person Bette is, going above and beyond whenever she can to help someone else out, and having a great time while doing it.

 



Now it is our turn to help Bette.  Back in December she had to put her kitty Cuddles to sleep.  That was devastating for her.  Now her kitty Jack is sick.  He has been back and forth to the vet numerous times, having had all kinds of tests done to find out what’s wrong with him.  He isn’t eating, and having trouble breathing.  Her vet bill is already over $1,000 and will be climbing as they still haven’t figured out what is wrong with Jack.  Right now they think it is heart and asthma related.  They are giving Bette hope that with medicine he'll be OK.  Unfortunately, Bette is on a fixed income and cannot afford this additional expense.  She is beyond stressed right now, worried sick about her Jack as well as about paying for the vet bills to come.  She has shared many times that she plans to “go without” in order to take care of her baby.  All of us who know and love Bette would hate to see that happen.

CAN'T SLEEP. I'M WORRIED ABOUT MY JACK. I'VE BEEN LAYING BESIDE HIM TELLING HIM HOW MUCH I LOVE HIM. AND HIS TAIL WAGS LIKE HE'S TELLING ME HE LOVES MAMA. I'LL BE SO HAPPY WHEN I KNOW HE'S GOING TO BE OK. I LOVE MY JACK.
