HELP DONITA GET A COCHLEAR IMPLANT

Hello, everyone! I created this fundraiser for my niece and my grand niece. Here is their story:
DONITA CLAIRE ONG, age 3, diagnosed with Bilateral Hearing Loss and is a candidate for a Cochlear Implant.
Implanting Donita will give her access to sound which will provide her with the only chance of age-appropriate speech and language development. This will provide her the opportunity to a better education and independent employment as an adult in the future. If not implanted, it may lead to permanent changes in the auditory cortex in the brain which may make it impossible to benefit from a cochlear implant or any form of hearing restoration surgery in the future.
The costs involved for one (1) cochlear implant are as follows:
Cochlear Implant Device Php 1,200,000.00
Doctors' Cost Php 175,000.00
Just like any other parent, we were in denial at first. We prayed really hard that maybe one day, miraculously, she’d speak up like how a normal kid does. It breaks my heart to see my daughter trying her best to express herself or to talk to her family but no words are coming out from her mouth. Let me share with you our journey:
• 6 weeks of my pregnancy: I had some measles and have undergone some tests, I was told I am clear with German measles/Rubella
• 7 months of my pregnancy: We saw water in her brain (hydrocephalus) on one of my ultrasound results. However, I was told that the size of her head is just normal. To monitor this, I had ultrasound on a weekly basis until the time I gave birth to her. She was in the NICU for 1 week.
• Donita have gone through numerous tests and there were no findings of any sign of infection. Until we found out that she has a murmur in her heart. This means there’s a vein in her heart that didn’t close. We were told this normally takes up to 7 years to heal. Then by May 2015, we were advised that the hydrocephalus in her brain was gone and only scars were identified in her brain. This was also the same time we found out she has a hearing problem.
She’s growing up and as her parents; we know we have to do something. We’ve gone through several tests and she even wore a hearing aid for quite a while, unfortunately, it didn’t help her. This implant is our last resort.
I was also diagnosed with Stage 2 Cervical Cancer last August 2016 which challenged us more in financing our daughter’s implant. This also means that the possibility for me to give birth in the future is very minimal – even close to nothing and that Donita will be my only child forever. Just like everyone else, I want to give her the best possible future there is.
Life is so precious and this innocent girl deserves the right to live normally. In advance, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your incredible moral and financial support. Thank you for helping us change the life of our child.
