David's Leukemia Battle

Donation protected

On June 20th, David went to Urgent Care feeling ill.  He thought it was just a bad cold. After running some initial tests,  doctors found that he had a hemoglobin count of 3  (13.5-17.5 is normal) and rushed him to the hospital. They gave him 3 blood transfusions. He was diagnosed the next day with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Soon, he will be taken to OHSU to begin 3-4 weeks of intense chemotherapy.  There is a 50-60% chance that his AML will be in remission after this.

Because this type of cancer destroys his immune system, David will need to be hospitalized during this time.  He will need to take about 2 months off from work. His wife, Heather, is disabled and currently seeking employment, and she would like to be with her husband to support him. David is seeking money to help cover costs of hospitalization, ambulance rides, chemotherapy, and possibly stem cell treatments.

Well wishes and prayers are also appreciated. Please keep him in your thoughts.
