Help David and Becky Renovate

Donation protected
David and Becky Gould have been in ministry all of their adult lives. In Matthew 7:16, the Bible says, "You will know them by their fruit." Having now raised three kids of their own, David and Becky have seen their now adult children join them in service: Son David, has done missionary work in Central America along the Amazon, Daughter Anna, has served in Guatemala. Daughter Tabitha, has served in Haiti and in Papua New Guinea. All three have joined their mom and dad in service to the poor in numerous organizations.

Now empty nesters, David and Becky are endeavoring something new. They have taken on the rehabilitation of a 5 acre property in CottonTown TN. The property will serve not only as their home but will be open to others as well. Those seeking to find spiritual and physical refreshment through rest and engagement by way of prayer and conversation will find an open door and place of rest.

Somewhere, a mom needs a place to recover from divorce. A husband and wife need temporary housing between missionary assignments. A single expecting mother needs a home where she can focus on her unborn child and not her circumstances. A youth group needs a place in the country where they can sing and share around a bonfire. A pastor and spouse need a weekend away that they can't afford.

This is the culmination of a 25 year dream, and here is the vision that David and Becky have for this property. The property is surrounded by nature and wildlife and will offer as many as three private bedrooms with private baths. There are newly built horse barns that David and Becky plan to use for boarding, beautiful pasture land will provide space for gardening vegetables and growing flowers (Becky's dream). Even a small old family cemetery with headstones dating back to the 1800's will be restored to create a prayer garden.

The property comes with challenges but nothing that can't be overcome with elbow grease, some hands on volunteering and, of course a little financial support. The challenge is this, we must get these repairs completed in order to pass an FHA loan inspection scheduled for mid January 2017. David and Becky will take possession of the home on December 15, 2016 and work has already begun. They are stepping out in faith in a very untraditional, but do-able real estate transaction. The sellers are working with them the best they can as well. But your help is needed.

The home is in good condition structurally but there is need of flooring in several bedrooms (the carpets have been removed and will have to be replaced to finalize the loan). There are several minor electrical repairs, some sheet rock damage, rain gutter and grading work needed, paint, window and door repairs needed and years of accumulated junk in the barns and on the land needs to be removed.

Volunteering can be scheduled directly with David at [email redacted] . More information about David and Becky can be found here www.heartofministry.weebly.com. But more than anything we'd love your financial support. Any amount you could offer is appreciated.

God bless.
