Hi. This is my friend Dareece. Totally bad ass, works in her community, is a doula, has no criminal record, who has lived here most of her life, is a caretaker for family and a beloved friend to many others, friend Dareece.
When she was out celebrating her 36th birthday at a local bar with her cousin in Boston, in October 2018, someone at the party attempted to steal from people at the bar. Long story short, the BPD have made up an entire story line that puts the thief and Dareece as co-conspirators.
Due to this being an active case there are limited details available at this time. The bottom line is she is facing charges for joint venture/felony larceny which holds a sentence of 5 years max if convicted. Because the BPD linked her with this other person, she is unable to sever her case from this person's case.
This has been hugely traumatic which has resulted in Dareece having to take FMLA and work part time, while also trying to keep up with her mounting legal fees, bills and so on.
If you know me, you know anti-racism work is more than close to my heart, and if you know me, you know my friends are my family. Any fees donated will go towards covering Dareece's legal fees, fees for continuing with therapy during FMLA and to make up for lost income due to her current inability to work full-time.
Dareece's trial date is at the end of May so the fees and so on are emergent.
