Excited to give them everything they deserved and more. Fast forward a year to the day, September 19th 2018 my Mom is lying unconscious after having brain surgery to remove a tumor they found the night before. Hoping and praying as we waited for the pathology report to come back clear and it was just benign. Unfortunately we got the worst news we could have and found out it’s stage 4 Glioblastoma. I want to give my mom the world, the cure to this dreaded disease but I can’t. What I can do is make sure she has done the things she wants to do in case there is no miracle. My mom would love to take one big trip as a family on a cruise and to Disneyland, she wants to see the kids happy through this hard time. If I could I would pay for this all by myself for her but unfortunately I don’t have enough saved up to do it on my own. I need help. If you’d like to donate to helping my mom get her wish then please do so. We appreciate all the love and support

We just wanted to first off say thank you to everyone who has donated and shared. We appreciate it so much!

Unfortunately my mom got readmitted to the hospital today. Her insicion is still draining so they are going to run some tests if it’s an infection they are going to do surgery to remove the mesh titanium. If it’s spinal fluid which is the other fluid they think it could be, they will do surgery to place a stent in.

Prayers would be much appreciated we are hoping whatever it is will go away over the weekend and she won’t have to have surgery next week and miss thanksgiving with us at home.

Thank you again.

We are so grateful for all the support that’s been shown to us! We really have no words to say how thankful we are

Moms on her last week of radiation then she’ll have a 4 week break. Moms hair started to fall out. She said that now the cancer is really starting to hit her seeing her hair fall out. She left it in the sink to show Dad when he got home from work. My dad cried told my mom he loves her and she will always be beautiful to him he then threw the hair away. Later we came back to find my mom had taken the hair out of the garbage and made a heart with it. It’s hard to part with something that makes you feel so beautiful but she is doing it with such grace.

We were so fortunate to have ksl run a story on our family. Thank you so much! I have attached a link so if you haven’t seen it you can.

Sorry it’s been awhile since I last updated! Mom is in good spirits, she is so strong and we love her so much!
She has been doing radiation for about a week and a half now, she has about a week and a half left. They have done the expedited version, usually treatment lasts 6 weeks but they are having her do 3 weeks at a time due to her tumor growing so fast. Her head is still leaking and the neurosurgeon is concerned about that. He wants to reassess it after the radiation ends. If it is still leaking/infected she will have to have a third surgery and remove the titanium plate that they put in. (Doctor said the titanium is really hard to get infected but my mom seems to be an over achiever) if they end up having to remove the plate then my mom will permanently have to wear a helmet due to there not being anything to protect her brain, just skin.
We will get a follow up mri middle of December to see if the growth has stopped or continued with tumor. Please continue to pray that the tumor has stopped growing/ that her infection will go away so she doesn’t have to get a third surgery.
The cruise is all booked for December 10th! Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for everyone that has and continues to donate. We appreciate it so much. We need to book the plane tickets and buy the Disney land tickets still. So thank you again! I will keep you updated as I get them.

Sincerely
Kira

My mom got to go home today from the hospital which is good news. My moms surgery went smoothly, they had to remove part of her bone on her skull and had to have it replaced by titanium. The infection had spread to her bone and partially to her brain. Before the surgery the doctor was talking with us, he stated that further results on the pathology report came back that the mutation gene of my moms tumor is non-methylated which means it will not react to chemo. In the three weeks since my moms last surgery the tumor has grown 1 1/2 cm which is pretty significant. Because of this the doctor is going to go straight to radiation within the week when normally after this surgery and infection they would be on antibiotics for a whole month before starting the treatment. They are also going to be doing an expedited radiation schedule which will be 3 weeks long rather than the 6 weeks. I will try and keep this updated as best as possible. Thank you again for all the love and support, it means so much to us!
