Pau Hana Pet Resort is a Cage Free luxury Dog Boarding and Doggy Daycare facility currently servicing the east side of the Big Island Hawaii. We are located at 15-1588 25th Ave Keaau HI, 96749, and are dedicated to consistently providing high customer satisfaction by rendering excellent service in quality pet care.
Animals are playing a larger role in our lives, and working people are choosing to provide them with more options. Loving families with active pets are in search of quality facilities for their four legged friends, and a bit of peace of mind for themselves.
Our short term goals are to raise enough funds through different crowdfunding platforms to install 4 Dog Bone Shaped Pools, 4 Large Luxury Dog Condos, and much more! Within the next three years we would like to add a dog grooming service, kitty condos, as well as dog training classes. We also plan to expand our facilities to accommodate a gift shop and a permanent space for themed doggy photo shoots.

To ensure the safety and health of all animals and staff at Pau Hana Pet Resort, we require all clients to comply with the following rules and regulations:
GENDER: All dogs must be fixed (unless under six months of age). Non-spayed females will not be allowed to attend daycare while in heat.
AGE: Dogs/puppies of any age are allowed to attend daycare given that they meet the Pau Hana Pet Resort criteria. Puppies may begin attending daycare as early as the completion of their third round of vaccinations.
ENROLLMENT: All dogs must have a complete, up-to-date, and approved enrollment form on file.
VACCINATIONS: All dogs must be up-to-date on all vaccinations. Owners must submit written verification that their dog(s) is vaccinated against, specifically, Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus, and Bordetella.
HEALTH: Owners are obligated to verify that their dog(s) is in good health and is free from any condition that could potentially jeopardize the health of other guests.
BEHAVIOR: All dogs must pass a behavior assessment prior to enrollment into our program. All dogs must be non-aggressive and not food and/or toy possessive. Please be mindful that all dogs will be spending time with other owners’ pets and the safety and health of all dogs is Pau Hana Pet Resorts' main priority.
ABOUT ME: My name is Mya Burns and I was raised right here in Puna. I graduated from Pahoa High School and attended UH Hilo. I've had animals my whole life, but have always felt especially connected to dogs. My furry friend is a dog named Hana. She is over 10 years old now, and I've always wanted to build something to remember her by, so I created Pau Hana Pet Resort. Growing up in Hawaii and having a dog of my own, I have experienced first hand the lack of quality facilities and dependable care. There are no dog parks and the number of doggy day events are far and few between. I saw a need and I founded Pau Hana Pet Resort to bring dogs and the community together as one.
