With your help, Cocos Animal Welfare will hold a community Spay and Neuter clinic in August 2018, offering FREE sterilization for over 1,000 animals. Help us, help them!
In the past, VIDAS, with support and organization from Cocos Animal Welfare, has provided several thousands of sterilizations during their August spay and neuter clinic in Playa del Carmen. This dedicated group of vets, students and volunteers has given so much to our community over the last 14 years. However, in the wake of the tragedies of the past hurricane season, their focus has understandably moved to Puerto Rico, where their help is sorely needed.
Playa del Carmen continues to be one of the fastest growing cities in the world, and keeping the animal population under control is vital. As many of you know, Cocos Animal Welfare is a non-profit organization, dedicated to reducing and controlling the cat and dog populations in our community. This year Coco's Animal Welfare is stepping up to provide a five day free spay and neuter clinic scheduled from August 11th to August 15th, 2018. With your help, and with help from other local groups, vets and volunteers, we intend to spay and neuter over 1,000 animals in the course of those 5 days.
In order to set up the clinic and to offer free sterilization, we must meet our goal of $25,000 USD.
At this time we still need to raise a further $16,000USD and YOU CAN HELP!
We have a very generous donor who has committed to MATCH ALL NEW DONATIONS up to $8,000. This will meet our goal and means that YOUR DONATION WILL GO TWICE AS FAR! Help us meet this goal, help us help the local community and help us reduce the stray animal population. HELP US HELP THEM! NOW is the time to double your money! AND - donations in the US are now TAX DEDUCTIBLE!
100% of all donations received will be used to fund the August spay/neuter clinic. Everyone who helps out at the clinic are volunteers, and donate their time and skills.
EVERY volunteer covers their own travel expenses, food and lodging.
